Carol Monaghan MP introduced the topic of this meeting as diagnosis and management.
Twenty parliamentarians (or their representatives) were in attendance.
Dr Charles Shepherd gave an overview of the new ME/CFS guideline from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
Presentations were given by:
- The parent of an adult daughter with ME
- Professor Julia Newton, Newcastle University, Medical Director, Academic Health Science Network, North East and North Cumbria
- Dr Sue Pemberton, Therapy Director and Specialist Occupational Therapist, Yorkshire Fatigue Clinic
A further update was given by Neale Hanvey MP.
This was followed by a Q&A session that covered diagnostic testing, ME specialists and education for GPs.
