This meeting was used to explore the economic and welfare benefits issues facing people with ME.

Presentations were given by:

  1. Ann Innes, Welfare Rights Adviser, ME Association
  2. Person with ME
  3. Dr William Weir, Consultant Physician, Medical Adviser

These presentations covered the disablity benefits system, personal experience of applying for benefits, and private insurance systems too.

They provided and informative and emotive picture of the difficulties people with ME go through in accessing this most fundamental support.
